Does The Originals Spin-Off Mean Joseph Morgan Will Leave Vampire Diaries?

If there’s one thing we can say about The Vampire Diaries fan base, it’s that they’re passionate. “Joseph Morgan Can Not Leave TVD” trended on Twitter today after more casting news for the spin-off The Originals hit.

When it was announced that Claire Holt (Rebekah) will join her TV brother Joseph Morgan (Klaus) on the show, something started to click for people. If all the Originals are on the spin-off, does that mean they’re no longer a part of TVD?

Basically, yes. If the show gets picked up — and that’s still a big “if” — then Claire, Joseph, and Daniel Gillies (Elijah) will have a drastically reduced presence in Mystic Falls. As Zap2It’s Carina MacKenzie points out onTwitter, “It doesn't mean they'll NEVER EVER make short return visits toThe Vampire Diaries, but they can't do two shows at once.” Right now they’re just making a backdoor pilot, and there’s no guarantee that The CW will turn it into a weekly series.

But how great would that be? Certainly we’d miss Klaus harassing the Mystic Falls crew (and the implications for Klaroline makes us sad), but the OV has been limited living in a small town. New Orleans — where the spin-off is set — offers a plethora of delights and the perfect atmosphere for a family of vampires.

According to Entertainment Weekly, while the Originals will live in New Orleans, the show would actually be filmed in Atlanta — specifically to make crossovers between the spin-off and TVD easier.

While Joseph Morgan became a series regular in Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, he’ll be one of the leads on The Originals. That means even more screentime for the wickedly good actor. The same goes for Claire — let’s hope they ditch that last white ash-dipped dagger for good!

Don’t think of what you’re losing. Think of all the Original time you’re gaining!

Is Phoebe Tonkin Dating Lucy Hale's Ex Chris Zylka?

We have to admit, we were a little shocked when we heard that too-cute couple Chris Zylka and Lucy Hale had parted ways in September after nearly six months of dating.

After taking to Twitter to share the sad news with his fans, Chris went on to bash Lucy for being “too good,” then praise her as one of the most talented and beautiful people he’s ever known. To us and his many fans, the former Secret Circle star was in no way attempting to hide his broken heart.

But as they say, time heals all — and it appears that Chris may have already moved on with another gorgeous brunette!

On February 5, style blogger Alexandra Spencer tweeted a photo ofVampire Diaries’ Phoebe Tonkin looking phenomenal in a bikini on the beach. After writing that she “love[s] this photo of my darling@phoebejtonkin,” Alex left a comment that we simply couldn’t ignore.

“Nice girlfriend!! @chriszylka,” she wrote, clearly referring to Miss Tonkin. Phoebe replied with a subtle smiley-face emoticon, which Chris mimicked later on that same day.

Looking back through Phoebe's Instagram, it’s clear that the 23-year-old actress has indeed been spending time with her former Secret Circle co-star. On January 26, Phoebe shared a photo of Chris and actor Angus McLaren (above). “My two tv boyfriends getting me French fries drive thru yeahaaaa #h20 #secretcircle #collide.”

Then on Sunday, February 10, Phoebe celebrated the Super Bowl by treating herself to some homemade beauty products. “Raw honey face mask!,” she tweeted. “Apparently it’s boyfriend friendly. I hear I’ve never been sweeter!”

One thing’s for sure, Phoebe Tonkin does have a boyfriend. While we can’t completely confirm that she’s dating Chris Zylka, the evidence is only seeming to mount!

Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Two Characters Exiting Before the Hiatus

We’ve been gnashing our teeth since we heard rumors of death anddeparture coming to The Vampire Diaries. Of course, Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) got staked so we weren’t sure where that left us on the body count.

According to Zap2It, we’re not done saying goodbye: “In the next two episodes, two major characters will exit the show in significant (though different) ways.”

Whether those are both deaths or simply relocations isn’t clear. We’re listing all the characters we can think of in the poll below. You tell us who you think won’t be hanging around the Mystic Grill anymore.

That sentence just made us really sad.

Is Phoebe Tonkintrying to make us jealous, because she’s certainly doing a very good job.

During a recent trip to Miami, the Vampire Diaries star flaunted her flawless figure while sporting a black bikini on the beach. “I love this photo of my darling @phoebejtonkin,”tweeted her friend, model and style blogger Alexandra Spencer.

While we’re sure Phoebe can thank her genes for that crazy physique, she definitely works hard to keep it that way. The 23-year-old actress is a devoted vegan who loves workouts designed by the Ballet Beautiful and Tracy Anderson methods.

“If you’d like to look as good as she does in a bikini,” added Alex, “start by reading [Phoebe’s] blog www.yourzenlife.com.”

While one look at Phoebs is enough to send us into a pit of low self-esteem, we’re not so sure we’ll be giving up cheese anytime soon!

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Will Elena Lose Her Humanity?

More sexy posters with mysterious phrases from The Vampire Diaries. 

The latest February Sweeps promo showsElena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) looking intensely at the camera along with the tagline “Humanity was the only thing she hadn’t lost.”

Elena has lost a lot — her family, her sanity (temporarily), the Miss Mystic Falls pageant — but is her humanity really the next thing to go? 

Perhaps they’re referring to her new bloodsucker status... or maybe it’s not quite so literal.

Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) seemed to think Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) was the new vampire’s last tie to her old self, telling Damon that if Elena’s little brother were dead, she’d have no reason to become human again.

Someone is leaving Mystic Falls — and we can see how losing Jer would send Elena over the edge.

Then again, that’s not the lil’ Gilbert who’s lurking behind her...

Esther is not the Original Witch (What the hell?)

Vampires might have started with Esther (Alice Evans) in The Vampire Diaries cannon, but that doesn’t mean all magic did. For example, Ayanna (Maria Howell) was the one to teach the Originals’ mother how to do the spell that transformed Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), and the rest of their siblings into bloodsuckers.

Julie Plec made some interesting comments about Esther and the origins of magic at San Diego Comic-Con, and she teased more info to TV Guide.

In San Diego, Julie said, “We call her [Esther] the Original Witch, but where did she come from and who was before her and where did that spell come from to create the original vampires? That's actually a big question and something we'll be asking this year."

To TV Guide, Julie expounded, saying, “when Esther used that spell to make her children immortal, which created the Original vampires, that spell existed already. So who wrote it? That's the question that will remain a question in this season and possibly in the series. We dabbled with the Original vampires, but who were truly the Original witches?”

Does this mean there could be a separate line of vampires out there, and other witches with crazy spells — like one that can reverse vampirism?

Vampire Diaries Spin-Off The Originals Adds Claire Holt’s Rebekah

Good news for those of you who love Original sister Rebekah on The Vampire Diaries, perhaps worrisome news for fans who want to see where Stebekah leads: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Claire Holt has joined The Originals spin-off.

She’ll head to New Orleans with Joseph Morgan (Klaus), Daniel Gillies(Elijah), Phoebe Tonkin (Hayley), and several other supernaturals (and one human).

The Original family returns to the French Quarter of the Louisiana town that they left an indelible mark upon back in the early 1900s. Klaus’s former protégé, Marcel, is stirring up all sorts of trouble in the city.

What does this mean for Bex’s shot at the cure, her flirtations with Stefan(Paul Wesley), and everything else Mystic Falls related? We wish we had a crystal ball.
