Will Elijah save Katherine or try to kill her?

So we all watched last weeks episode of The vampire Diaries and it seems as though were are just getting acquainted by old characters who have not shown up on the television series. But we all saw Elijah sparing one old soul, but apprentantly to WetPaint.com there will more to come with Elijah's love for Katherine and Elijah finding out the Katherine had killed Elena's brother Jeremy in order to get the cure.
