To be honest, Candice Accola is such a fantastic actress that we totally bought what Caroline said about Klaus (Joseph Morgan) being capable of being saved in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, Episode 13, “Into the Wild.” But was the blond vamp just playing on the Original’s emotions?
According to what Joseph Morgan tells TVLine, he believes Caroline was genuine. “I thought she was being honest,” he says. “As an actor, when you get a scene like that, you want to make the most interesting choice. I would assume that Candice, looking at that scene, would think the most interesting choice would be to play it as if she’s being honest, that she wishes she could forgive him for the things that he’s done. That just adds to the complexity of her character.”
Speaking of complex, the Klaroline dynamic is about to get more complicated thanks to Caroline’s admission. Joseph says, “It evolves the relationship further. It’s interesting – the more time they spend together, he keeps messing things up and doing the most horrendous things and then slightly redeeming himself at the end of it. It’s just giving them more and more of a history and adding more weight to the relationship.”
Now, how this all figures into the spoiler about a certain hybrid having sex, we can’t wait to find out.
